Panoramic tour of Turin

You will visit on foot the historical centre, a baroque jewel-case: the seventeenth-century Saint Charles’ Square, which is considered to be the Italian sitting-room par excellence, Carignano Square and the Hall of the first Piedmonts and Italian Parliament in Carignano Palace, Guarino Guarini’s masterpiece, where the first Italian king was born,  the Palace of the Academy of Sciences housing the Egyptian Museum (the second most important one in the world),  the exclusive Charles Albert Square, the “Piedmonts Gallery”, an art nouveau jewel, the baroque Castle Square, the heart of the city. The millennial   Madama Palace rises in the middle of the Square, while some of the most elegant historical cafés and the Royal Theatre can be admired under the porticoes. The royal beautiful Saint Lawrence’s Church also faces the square (in its sacristy there is a life-size photograph of the Holy Shroud), while  the baroque Royal Palace stands on the other side with its gardens, from which you can see the Mole Antonelliana, the symbol of the city and the seat of the Museum of the Cinema. Through the little Royal Square  you can reach the Cathedral housing the Chapel of the Holy Shroud, and the neighbouring Roman archaeological remains. Sitting comfortably in your private car you can continue the tour of the city to discover Po Street and Vittorio Veneto Square overlooking the marvellous hills; in five minutes you can also reach the Cappuccini Mount to enjoy the suggestive panorama of the city and the Alps surrounding Turin. The  Valentino Park, which is embellished by the sixteenth-century castle and the Medieval Suburb, is not far away. If there is enough time, you can have a look at the modern quarters which were created to celebrate the centenary of Italian Unification, the industrial FIAT quarters, the residential quarter Crocetta and its art nouveau palaces, and the places where two important Saints as Cottolengo and Don Bosco lived in the eighteenth century.  The last steps of the tour are represented by the refined Constitution Square, Cernaia Street, the fifteenth-century Citadel, Solferino Square and Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, which is enriched by the statue of the first Italian king. The itinerary is also an opportunity to discover  the mysterious and esoteric places thanks to which Turin belongs to the triangle of White and Black Magic.

The Royal Venaria Complex

Royal Palace

The  private  guide  will meet you at  the  Entrance  of  Museum. The Palace It was built on the remains of a medieval palace and it was the official residence of the Savoy Family until the Italian capital was changed. It is a precious example of Piedmonts baroque style. Today in the royal apartments many precious objects as  golden stuccoes, valuable carvings, clocks, porcelains and paintings can be admired. Juvarra and the most important architects at the court of the Savoy family worked there. The itinerary also includes a walk through the Royal Gardens, which were planned by Le Notre, the little Royal Square and Castle Square, the heart of the historical city.

Madama Palace - Antiquities Museum
(about 2 hours)

The  private  guide  will meet you at  Entrance  of  Museum . The Museum it is made up of the collections of the Dukes of Savoy, which were started by Emmanuel Filiberto. The core of the Museum of Antiquities has grown since then; today it consists of  the historical collections and many Piedmontese archaeological finds. More than 8000 objects are exhibited in a new pavilion to illustrate the territorial archaeology ranging from prehistory to  the Roman Age to the Middle Ages.

Egyptian Museum
(about 2 hours)

The  Museum it’s without any doubts one of the most visited Italian museums and it houses the most ancient Egyptian Museum in the world and the most important collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts outside Cairo. Founded in 1824 by King Carlo Felice after acquiring the collection of the archaeologist Drovetti, the museum contains 30.000 exhibits. It documents the history and civilization of Egypt from the Palaeolithic to the Coptic era through unique exhibits and collections of objects d'art, articles of daily use and funeral furnishings (including the Altar of Isis, the canvas painted by Gebelein, the intact tombs of Kha and Merit, and the exceptional cliff temple to Ellesjia).

Cinema Museum And Mole Antonelliana

The  private  guide  will meet you at  Entrance  of  Museum. The Museum it is located inside the Mole Antonelliana, the historic symbol of Turin. The Mole Antonelliana, designed originally as a synagogue, was completely restored as an absolutely unique shrine. At 167 metres, the Mole is certainly the highest museum in the world. A scenic lift that goes up through the centre of the building to the dome and pavilion doe not only give a view of the objects and exhibits on display with spectacular and fascinating effects and perspectives, but also a complete scenic panorama of the city and its surrounding mountains Alps. A fantastic route was planned for the visitor through the various collections and the early experiments with moving images up until the birth of cinema. Ten "chapels" placed around the Temple Hall are dedicated to great themes in cinema history: Love and Death, Cabiria, Cinema in Turin, Animated Cinema, Experimental Cinema, Mirrors, The Absurd, Horror and Fantasy, True and False, Big Bang, all with film sets, photographs, designs and sketches... There will be showings of short films and animated films in the Temple Hall, the immense and spectacular heart of the museum situated in the centre of the Mole.
